I am reviewing my 2021 Hyundai Palisade and my service experiences at Cerritos and Huntington Beach Hyundai. The car has been plagued by ongoing safety, mechanical, and cosmetic issues, paired with unhelpful & unprofessional dealer service. If I could give negative stars for both, I would. Sunroof: I was told at the time of purchase that it needed replacement; required multiple visits after the dealer failed to order the replacement part in advance. Electronics: Required repeated visits to fix a failed driver-side auto window and a blown passenger speaker. Paint Defects: Paint faded and trim bubbled within a year. Service Consultant Gary Ohnesorgen falsely claimed the warranty was expired, ignored calls, and tried to rescind a goodwill offer before I discovered the repair was 100% covered by an EG Assurance Warranty—which he overlooked without apologizing. Months later, the trim peeled because it was left off the original job, and the dealer now refuses to fix it. Rear Sensors: Failed to activate, leading to a minor reverse collision; the dealer confirmed the sensors were miswired. Refuse to fix damaged tail light. Park/Shifter Mechanism Failure: The vehicle failed to engage into Park, causing it to roll forward resulting in several thousand dollars in body damage to the front and side of the vehicle. Following this incident, I reported it to Hyundai Motor Co as well as taking the vehicle to the dealership multiple times to address recurring shifter failures. One representative acknowledged a service bulletin regarding shifter control issues on the 2021 Palisade. Despite ongoing failures, Huntington Beach Hyundai repeatedly refused further repairs, claiming they could not replicate the issue. Service representative Peter Armanious was consistently unprofessional and dismissed my concerns, stating at one point that the issue I described was "impossible." After I advocated for over a year, the dealership finally replaced the shifter unit "in hopes that it would work." In my experience, the damage and defects have made the car unsafe for my family, yet Hyundai Motor Co. has denied all responsibility, repair coverage, and buyback requests. Between persistent recalls, safety hazards, and dismissive service since the beginning, I strongly advise against buying this vehicle or servicing at either dealership. I was warned by several others not to use Hyundai, specifically Cerritos, I wish I had listened. The service at both dealerships has been extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

I am kind of glad I waited two months after buying my vehicle for a review. The sales experience was good, I believe the salesman Joshua was the one who helped me. He was fantastic and was attempting to work with us to get what we were looking for. I get the vehicle and was told the vehicle was washed. I was not able to confirm it because it was late at night. I see the vehicle the next morning and it is dirty from inside and out. Not only that but there was a scratch on the rear passenger door. I had to pay to get the vehicle detailed and lucky for my the detailer was able to buff it out as it was not that deep. I already had to spent almost $200 just to have my day old vehicle cleaned as I received it dirty.I just bought a $40k+ vehicle and was hoping it was clean to experience the full new vehicle experience. Then literally a month later I need to add washer fluid into the vehicle because there was none. How!?! the vehicle is brand new. I am not sure what else they did not check before giving me the vehicle, but I hope that I see no other issues.
