Understanding Your Maintenance Schedule

Car Repair Maintenance You don’t need to go to automotive technical school to understand your vehicle’s maintenance schedule—it’s actually pretty simple. The schedule is basically a breakdown of all the various services that your Hyundai Kona needs and when you’ll need to have them performed.

The intervals are based on mileage, as it’s a better form of measurement than time. You’ll need to have all of these services performed—and repeated—each time you hit a specified mileage point.

Your Maintenance Schedule:

  • 7,500 miles: During your car’s first visit, you’ll need to have the tires rotated and the oil changed. This also includes a replacement of the oil filter. This visit will also include a thorough inspection of the braking system, the battery condition, the air cleaner filter, the driveshafts and boots, the exhaust system, the suspension, the steering gear box, and more.
  • Car Repair Maintenance15,000 miles: At this particular visit, you’ll need to have all of the above services performed for a second time. However, you’ll also add replacement of the climate control air filter as well as an inspection of the fuel tank air filter, the parking brake, and the vapor hose, and more.
  • 30,000 miles: While most of the services will be repeated from the 7,500- and 15,000-mile appointments, this visit will add replacing the air cleaner filter.
  • 60,000 miles: When you bring your vehicle in for service at this point, on top of all the repeated services, you’ll need to have the drive belts inspected. They’ll need to be inspected every other 15,000 miles from here on out.
  • 97,500 miles: The only new service to add to the growing list is replacement of the spark plugs. Everything else is repeated service and inspections.
  • 120,000 miles: At this peak mileage, the only new service to add is replacing the coolant. This service will need to be repeated every 30,000 miles.
